Domain Name System (DNS) technology is hardly bleeding-edge technology. In fact, it has been around for more than 35 years. Yet even an old dog like DNS can — and must — learn something new when it means keeping up with 21st Century cybersecurity. Next year’s DNS Flag Day is set to include demonstrations from several DNS vendors and operators that will address the problems of DNS name server implementations not currently in compliance with long-established DNS standards. Vendors are due to show their latest Extension Mechanisms for DNS (EDNS) that are expected to meet these standards approved years ago.
