A security policy management company, Tufin Software Technologies Ltd. acquired AKIPS Pty. Ltd., network monitoring solutions, for an undisclosed sum.
AKIPS is an Australian company founded in 2014, headquartered in Brisbane. It provides turnkey software appliances that are scalable for monitoring networks and infrastructure. The corporate platform, which is said to be among the quickest networking software solutions in the world, is made to keep critical problems and difficulties away from help desks.
With AKIPS, users may visualize traffic pathways using NetFlow, trace connections between core devices and edge ports using symmetric multiprocessing, and monitor their network using Simple Network Management Protocol, traps, syslog, and ping. A configuration crawler checks the previous configuration of essential devices and makes backups while keeping the network load as low as possible.
The alerting and reporting features allow you to set up personalized status alerts and receive notifications for crucial network occurrences. Users can utilize table and graph reports to compile the most pertinent data and combine alerts into dashboards for devices, events, and interfaces.
More than 250 customers and more than 90 suppliers’ products, including Fortinet Inc., Palo Alto Networks Inc., Check Point Software Technologies Inc., and Cisco Systems Inc., are covered by AKIPS when it is acquired. According to Tufin, AKIPS will establish a unique offering in the market, combining supplementary solutions that provide clients with the means to fully manage their security settings.
Mark Birkinshaw, AKIPS Chief Executive, said, “Enterprise IT teams are being asked to do more and more every day – which requires information and automation to accomplish. By teaming with Tufin, our customers can take advantage of the industry’s top network security policy automation technology to answer these challenges.”
Being a startup that has never raised venture capital funding, AKIPS is a unique breed. The business was bootstrapped from the start and has expanded based on its revenue; this is not exclusive to Australian startups, but it is uncommon among the U.S. businesses that are comparable.
Tufin CEO Ray Brancato said, “AKIPS’ award-winning network monitoring solution will strengthen our ability to provide customers with a comprehensive look at their operations, helping to speed discovery and resolution time.”
Turn/River Management LP purchased Tufin for USD 570 million back in 2022. With over 2,900 customers across a variety of industries, Tufin’s mission is to increase security operations’ efficacy and efficiency by expanding visibility and compliance readiness.
