Artificial intelligence-based email security platform developer Sublime Security Inc. nabs USD 60 million in the latest funding round to support its ongoing investment in its community and platform.
Sublime Security was established in 2019 and provides an email security platform that shields companies from ever-changing threats like malware, phishing, and business email compromise. Transparency and user control are given top priority on the platform, enabling businesses to customize their defenses to suit their requirements.
The open-source Message Query Language, a domain-specific language that enables users to define, execute, and share detection rules, is the foundation of Sublime Security’s platform. The functionality promotes cooperation across the cybersecurity community and enables security teams to respond to attacks in real-time.
The platform from Sublime Security connects with popular email services including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Application programming interface connections are used to provide the integration, which makes deployment simple and quick by removing the need to modify mail flow or MX records. Without interfering with current infrastructure, the platform enables enterprises to start analyzing past email data and putting strong security in place right away.
The company’s platform also tackles the growing threat posed by generative AI, which has made it simpler and more affordable for threat actors to transmit large quantities of highly targeted and diverse attacks.
“Generative AI has radically changed the email security problem and yesterday’s solutions can’t solve the challenges of today and tomorrow,” said Founder and Chief Executive Josh Kamdjou. “The future of email security lies in the flexibility to address new techniques from attackers and solve the real problems security teams see every day with email.”
Institutional Venture Partners Inc. spearheaded the Series B round with the latest investor Citigroup Ventures Inc. and existing investing partners namely, Decibel Partners, Index Ventures LLC, and Slow Ventures.
“Email is the backbone of business communication but remains an outsized cybersecurity risk,” said IVP General Partner Cack Wilhelm. “Sublime not only gives security teams an effective and easy-to-use platform but also a transparent and configurable product.”
Sublime Security has raised USD 93.8 million so far, including the fresh capital.
