Cloud security startup Orca Security Ltd. launched Orca Sensor, a handy security solution to integrate runtime visibility and security with the Orca Cloud Security Platform.
With its native integration with the Orca Cloud Security Platform, Orca Sensor is a non-intrusive extended Berkeley Packet Filter-based sensor that offers protection and runtime visibility. The sensor expands upon the platform’s pre-existing “SideScanning” security methodology to offer comprehensive coverage and risk identification for all assets within a company’s cloud estate.
A comprehensive, unified data model that integrates workload data—such as vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, malware, and file integrity monitoring—with threat intelligence and environmental context—such as accessibility and possible business impact—is used by the service to prioritize warnings.
Orca Sensor’s emphasis on quick deployment and simple maintenance are two of its key characteristics. The sensor is lightweight and non-intrusive to deploy on virtual machines, Elastic Container Service clusters, and Kubernetes clusters. Compared to older solutions, automatic upgrades lessen the maintenance load and guarantee the security of a variety of cloud assets.
Orca Sensor offers real-time capabilities for activity monitoring, threat detection, and malicious behavior identification. It is directly connected with the Orca Cloud Security Platform for a quicker reaction to new threats, and its runtime detections cover DNS, files, networks, and processes for visibility.
Furthermore, the solution provides adaptable and adjustable policies that enable businesses to optimize their security protocols with less manual involvement. In order to assist companies in creating a single and expandable security platform, the sensor also supports upcoming developments like enhanced workload visibility and sophisticated vulnerability management.
“Organizations today face a critical challenge in securing their cloud-native applications without sacrificing performance or agility,” said Co-founder and Chief Executive Gil Geron. “Orca Sensor addresses this head-on by providing real-time visibility and protection for VMs, containers and Kubernetes without the overhead of traditional agent-based tools” by empowering “DevOps teams to deploy security seamlessly across diverse cloud environments while providing the deep runtime insights needed to detect and prevent threats.”
Amazon Web Services Inc., Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud environments are covered by the Orca Cloud Security Cloud Platform, of which Orca Sensor is a component.
