Fortinet has recently announced the launch of its flagship operating system, FortiOS version 7.0.
The newly launched FortiOS 7.0 OS throws light on Fortinet’s ability to deliver consistent security for all networks, endpoints, and clouds, enhancing the Fortinet Security Fabric by leveraging 300 new features.
John Maddison, EVP of Products and CMO, Fortinet, said, “Most vendors are focused on a single slice of security, but the reality is it’s impossible to keep up with the complexity of today’s threat landscape with that approach. New innovations in FortiOS 7.0 continue Fortinet’s commitment to delivering a cybersecurity platform that expands across the entire digital attack surface to enable security that is broad, integrated, and automated to protect devices, data, and applications.”
The network edge explosion has extended and broken the perimeter around the entire networks across data centers, WAN, LAN, LTE, off-net, compute, operational technology, CASB, SASE, internet, and most recently, the home edge. An integrated platform approach is necessary for security to keep pace with network changes and today’s performance requirements while providing comprehensive visibility, data, analysis, detection, and timely coordinated response to cyber-attacks.
With more physical, virtual, cloud, and as-a-Service consumption models across the largest product portfolio, covering network security and SD-WAN, switching and wireless access, authentication, network access control, public and private cloud security, endpoint security, and advanced AI-driven threat defense solutions, all based on a single operating system, Fortinet encourages every organization of all sizes to secure and simplify its IT infrastructure.
The release of the FortiOS 7.0 will help all the latest security challenges related to working from home, securing the SASE edge, and more, expressed Fortinet.
FortiOS 7.0 will be made available at the end of Q1 2021.
