DevOps security startup Cycode Ltd.  acquired Bearer LLC, a startup specializing in cloud data security, though the financial details remain undisclosed.

Established in 2018, Bearer provides AI-driven static application security testing, API discovery, and data leak protection solutions. The company’s service identifies and resolves vulnerabilities by integrating with developer workflows, supporting modern languages and frameworks, and conducting fast and accurate scans.

Created with developers in mind, the platform addresses key issues in security and privacy. Bearer also provides seasoned technology leaders and technical experts who tackle real engineering challenges to assist security professionals in efficiently resolving significant issues.

Analyzing source code to provide privacy insights, the company helps modern software-as-a-service companies improve application security programs and identify sensitive data flows within their applications.

Cycode acquired Bearer to accelerate secure code delivery and enhance its Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) capabilities. The integration promises scanning speeds 31% faster than competitors, leveraging AI for contextual remediation and precision, enhancing the developer experience for expedited shipping.

With this acquisition, Cycode solidifies its leadership in the ASPM sector, reshaping developers’ expectations with heightened efficiency, accuracy, and user-friendliness. Since Cycode’s ASPM platform is entirely native, there’s no need for additional open-source scanning capabilities, streamlining the security process.

Cycode, a venture capital-backed startup, has raised USD 81 million, including a USD 56 million round in November 2021, with investors such as Insight Partners and YL Ventures LLC.
