- Customers can have a corporation take on a larger role in their cybersecurity operations by purchasing one of Tenex’s two other, more costly editions of the MDR service.
Cybersecurity startup company Tenex.AI Inc. launched with an AI-supported managed detection and response (MDR) service.
An undisclosed sum of funds from Andreessen Horowitz, Shield Capital, and a number of angel investors supports the business.
Eric Foster, Tenex’s CEO and Co-founder, is in charge. Prior to this, he served as a President of Cyderes, a cybersecurity service firm supported by private investors. Elias Manousos, a former corporate Vice President at Microsoft Corp. who managed the company’s AI Copilot for Security and Threat Intelligence product, is the chair of Tenex’s board.
Its MDR service for Google Cloud environments is its main product. The solution makes it easier for businesses’ own IT personnel to do their jobs by letting them outsource some of their cybersecurity activities.
“Tenex is tackling one of the most critical challenges in cybersecurity: the inefficiency of managing comprehensive security programs,” said Andreessen Horowitz general partner Zane Lackey.
Tenex provides three versions of their MDR service. Businesses can use the base version to set up a number of cybersecurity workflows and systems in their Google Cloud settings. Playbooks, which are programs that automatically do tasks like erasing files when specific criteria are satisfied, are also a part of this cybersecurity stack.
Tenex assists clients in maintaining a cybersecurity stack after it has been set up. Additionally, the business provides internal IT personnel with training on how to use the technologies it implements.
Customers can have a corporation take on a larger role in their cybersecurity operations by purchasing one of Tenex’s two other, more costly editions of the MDR service.
24/7 cybersecurity monitoring is part of the premium edition, Comprehensive MDR. Tenex’s cybersecurity experts respond to fix a breach when they discover hostile activity in a company’s network. Additionally, the business produces post-event reports to assist clients in enhancing their cybersecurity posture.
There are further elements in the comprehensive MDR strategy. Tenex assists clients in maintaining their automated scripts for detections, each of which focuses on seeing a distinct set of patterns of criminal activity. Since some businesses have hundreds or even thousands of detections, it might take a lot of resources to manage them internally. Additionally, Tenex provides businesses with advice on new hacking campaigns that could target their infrastructure.
According to Tenex, some of the labor required to safeguard client networks is automated through the use of AI models. Reacting to a breach can be accelerated by minimizing the amount of human procedures required. Tenex keeps cybersecurity logs for a year to aid in breach investigations.
Earlier this month, the company’s MDR solution for Google Cloud environments became live. Later this year, it intends to launch other cybersecurity services.
Tenex might be present in a number of areas, including vulnerability management, identity governance, and regulatory compliance, said Lackey. The management of employee and application access to an organization’s IT resources is known as identity governance. The process of looking for weak places in an IT environment, like unsafe configuration settings, is known as vulnerability management.
According to reports, Tenex is “open” to acquisitions. In the short term, though, the corporation intends to give organic expansion top priority.
